TAEGO UPDATES

We cannot express our thanks enough for all the great feedback and player comments regarding the release of Taego with Update 12.2. Thanks to your constructive feedback, we’re making lots of changes and improvements to Taego; let’s jump into it!

MULTI CARE PACKAGES

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 02_A-1-1024x576.jpg

We have received a lot of player feedback asking for an increase in the amount of Care Package airdrops available in each match. Let’s fix that!

Previously, it was generally only one player who’d get all the loot from each drop, with not much left to go around. With this update, we’ve dramatically increased the number of Care Packages, through additional small airdrops, allowing more players the chance to hunt them down and loot them up.

When the situation is right, additional Care Packages can be used as hardcover to engage or retreat from your opponent.

  • Increased the number of Care Packages
    • Standard Care Packages: One
    • Small Care Packages: 5 – 15
  • Multi-drop Care Package Contents
    • Ammo, healing items, throwables. Standard Care Package spawn items can also be found inside, with low probability.

SECRET ROOM

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 02_B-1-1024x576.jpg

The Taego Secret Room can change the course of your match and help you win that chicken dinner. Top-tier gear, including items not found elsewhere on the Battlegrounds can be looted inside the secret room.

Hidden keys are scattered across Taego and can be looted, then used to access the Taego Secret Room.

  • How to enter the Secret Room
    • After obtaining the key, you can open the secret room door and enter to loot items.
  • Available items
    • Self AED
    • Scopes
    • Low chance of Care Package items
    • Large number of healing items and throwables

EMERGENCY LANDING

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 02_C-1-1024x576.jpg

A simple leisurely plane ride to the Battlegrounds? Maybe not so much.. stay alert and pay attention to the flight crew’s instructions, as not every flight is a smooth one. Engine failure can cause your plane to catch fire and come hurtling towards the ground while attempting to make an emergency landing.

  • The emergency landing plane moves faster than the standard starting plane, but the fall height varies greatly, resulting in a varied falling duration.
    • The farther you jump at the beginning of the flight, the farther you can travel. The later you jump off, the shorter you can travel, as the plane altitute decreases.
  • If you decide not to jump off the plane, you’ll take 50% damage at the end of its journey.

ITEM SPAWN CHANGES

Based on player feedback, we’re making the following Taego item spawn changes:

  • Spawn Rate Changes
    • Self AED: 37% increase
    • Stocks: 1% decrease
    • Stun Grenade: 14% decrease
    • Molotov Cocktail: 3% decrease
  • New Items Added
    • Emergency Pickup
    • C4
    • Spike Trap

SANHOK UPDATES

Sanhok was originally released in 2018 and remastered in 2020. We haven’t stopped there and continue to make additional changes and improvements across the map. Based on the feedback received after the remaster, we’re improving movement flow in specific areas and adding additional cover to encourage more diverse and reactive gameplay.

NORTHWEST ISLAND GEOGRAPHICAL IMPROVEMENTS

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 03_A-1-1024x576.jpg

When moving to the northwest island, players often had no choice but to cross the water without going over the bridge and instead traverse the island’s outskirts, with no choice but to cross the water and engage enemies from a difficult position.

We have added cover to the previously open west to north coast areas near South Ruins and its connecting area.

  • Added small cliffs and rocks to be used as cover on the south beach of the northwest island.

NORTHWEST ISLAND TEMPLE AT THE SUMMIT IMPROVEMENTS

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is 03_B-1-1024x576.jpg

Some buildings usable as cover did not spawn items, so we felt the need to improve those areas. Additionally, there wasn’t very much cover for those game enough to make the journey from Camp Alpha and climb towards the temple.

  • Relocated the Temple.
    • Removed the buildings which did not have item spawns and replaced them with new buildings containing item spawns.
  • Removed cliffs and added cover.
  • Adjusted the angles of the rocks.

TAEGO FEATURED MAP – MODE CHANGES

To ensure the best matchmaking quality, we always keep an eye on our matchmaking data. After carefully analyzing matchmaking data from Update 12.2, we have decided to make the following changes to the featured map queue to provide a healthy matchmaking experience.

  • We are closing the following modes from AS,OC and SA servers:
    • Solo
    • Duo

MATCHMAKING – MAP ROTATION

  • Paramo has been removed and Karakin has been added to Normal Matches
  • Maps available in Normal Matches:
    • Erangel
    • Miramar
    • Sanhok
    • Vikendi
    • Karakin

RANKED SEASON 13

HONOR BASED REWARDS

Since Ranked Season 11, additional focus was placed on your most recent Ranked achievements, with honor-based rewards such as nameplates and emblems now only available to display for the duration of the new season.

We hope this encourages players to continue their ranked progression while also adding a little more prestige to those hard-earned rewards each season. Ranked in-game cosmetics, such as parachute skins, etc., will remain available to use throughout all seasons.

Players who reach the highest ranks will receive additional rewards, such as animated nameplates and emblems to make the grind just a little sweeter.

  • At the beginning of Season 13, all eligible players will be granted their Season 12 rewards, including nameplates/emblems available for the duration of the season.
  • Honor-based rewards from Season 12 will be removed from the inventory with the start of next season.

SEASON 12 RANKED MODE REWARDS

Ranked rewards are granted based on your rank at season end. Players who reach at least Gold V will receive the Season 12 Ranked Parachute skin! Those who fight their way to Platinum or higher will also be rewarded with a unique Animated Emblem. Master or higher players will also receive an Animated Nameplate.

The Top 500 players from each region will receive a unique Top 500 Animated Emblem and Animated Nameplate to show their status as world-beaters. Top 500 players will be displayed in-game on the LEADERBOARD.

Finally, view all your Season 12 Rankedstats by checking out the STATS screen under the CAREER tab in-game once the season wraps up.

  • SEASON 12 EMBLEM & NAMEPLATES
    • Players who played at least 10 Ranked Matches will earn an emblem and nameplate matching their end-of-season rank.
    • Platinum Tier and above receive an Animated Ranked Emblem.
    • Master Tier will receive an Animated Nameplate.
    • Top 500 players are rewarded with a Unique Animated Emblem and Nameplate.
    • Honor-based emblems will now be shown on your PUBG ID and displayed to enemies when you successfully take them out. Emblems will also be visible in the Death Cam and to spectators.
  • SEASON 12 SKIN
    • Players Gold V and above will receive an exclusive Season 12 Ranked Parachute Skin.

UPCOMING RANKED SCHEDULES: SEASON 13

  • Season 12 Ranked Mode will end once servers go into maintenance on August 12th KST (Console).
  • Season 13 Ranked Mode will begin when servers go live with the live server update next month.

HOW WILL MY REWARDS BE DELIVERED?

All rewards are granted automatically at the beginning of the new season. You may find the rewards on the pop-up screen shown upon your first log-in of the new season.

CHANGES IN RANKED SEASON 13

In Ranked Mode, players Diamond rank or higher who don’t play ranked for 7 days will begin to receive daily RP decay. Previously this decay would stop at 3000 RP, allowing players to maintain at least the lowest level of Diamond ranking, regardless of decay. In season 13, this decay will only stop once a player falls out of Diamond and into Platinum.

The purpose of ranked is to constantly improve your skills, hone strategies, and compete with competitive other players. We want to ensure that the players who reach the highest ranks and receive ranked rewards continue to hold their rank throughout the season.

  • Ranked Season 12
    • 3,000 RP is the lower limit of demotion.
    • You can maintain Diamond Rank even if you don’t play Ranked for seven days or more.
  • Ranked Season 13
    • RP can now decay below 3,000.
      • 100 RP will be detected per day for players Diamond tier or higher who do not play Ranked at least once a week.
      • 100 RP deduction per day continues until the player plays a Ranked match. Decay also stops once RP drops below 3,000. This means the deduction stops when you reach Platinum I.
    • Diamond tier cannot be maintained by players who don’t participate in Ranked for 7 days or more in a row.

WEAPON BALANCE UPDATE

As a battle royale game where every match presents different situations, we believe each weapon category should have its purpose in certain types of encounters. When checking our data, we found DMRs to be overperforming at long to very long ranges. However, at very long distances you would expect SRs to have an advantage. These balance changes should make SRs more viable than before – especially for engagements at very long distances.

Alongside buffs to SRs, including improved bolting animation and transition speeds, certain ARs and the PP-Bizon receive recoil reductions or an increase in damage.

Read below for full details.

SRS

The ballistics of the following Sniper Rifles have been adjusted:

Kar98k( +Julie’s Kar98k)
Mosin-Nagant
M24

  • Increased muzzle velocity (+20-25m/s)
  • Slightly flatter bullet trajectory
  • Decreased drag
  • Increased damage coefficient at long range (0.9 → 0.95)

  • Increased bolt-action speed
  • Faster transition to scoping after bolting.
  • Increased rate of fire

DMRS

The following balance changes have been applied to DMRs:

  • Increased bullet drop and reduced damage coefficient at long range for the Mini 14, QBU, SKS and SLR.
  • Decreased damage coefficient at long range for the Mk12.

Taego Updates

Taego World Improvements

2.-Taego-map-1024x576.jpg

Since the introduction of Taego, we have been continuously analyzing the play history to collect information about the overly advantageous areas on the map. As a result, we discovered that some regions of Taego have a relatively high win rate compared to others. After checking the win rate of the most popular combat zones, objects and terrain improvements were made for the areas with a win rate of 75% or more.

  • Improvements
    • Added cover to the mountain area north of the Palace and the river area east of the Terminal.
      • Fixed field of view, bends, and cover for areas where terrain composition is difficult to overcome.
    • Improved the cliff topography in the north of Buk San Sa area.
      • Corrected the height of the cliffside terrain, which was considered to be OP.
    • Reorganization of the topography around the School area.
      • After removing the surrounding trees, added fields.
    • Covers and hills have been reorganized.
      • Terrain improvements in some coastal areas.
        • Redline: Corrected the cliff topography of the entire coast.
        • Blueline: Removed rocks located around the lighthouse.
    • Some mountain/river areas:
      • Green area: Added trees to the hillside.
      • Magenta Zone: Added flat terrain curves.
      • Sky Blue Zones: Added cover for areas that lack cover.

Error Space

02_Error-Space-1024x576.jpg

Introducing the Error Space, this map exclusive feature to Taego allows players to gather other map-exclusive weapons and supplies to be spawned randomly within these zones.

Error Space zones are displayed randomly on the minimap and will be active until the end of the match, so make sure you head to the Error Space early so you don’t miss out!

  • Custom match
    • Players can set the number of Error Spaces.
    • Players can set the spawning probability of Error Spaces.

Breakable Pot

2.-%ED%95%AD%EC%95%84%EB%A6%AC-1024x576.

Various items are placed in Breakable Pots that are placed all over the map. Break the pot to loot multiple items inside and lead the match to victory. However, be aware that the sound of breaking the pot may expose your location to enemies. You may break the pot by punching it, but a few shots with your gun can come in handy.

  • Game Modes

Comeback BR and UI Improvements

2.-Respawn-Message-1024x576.jpg

We received much feedback on the inconvenient situations that players experienced while waiting for Comeback BR. Therefore, to provide a better overall experience, we have made the following improvements.

  • UI Improvements
    • A warning message will be displayed when trying to leave while spectating Comeback BR.
    • If you die while being able to participate in Comeback BR, “Exit to lobby” button will be disabled for three seconds.
    • A timer that indicates the time left until the start of Comeback BR will be displayed.
    • Comeback BR team UI improvements
      • Nicknames are now displayed brighter for squadmates who are waiting for Comeback BR to begin.

Vehicle Balance Updates

We gave high low-end torque and excellent stability in consideration of the rugged and mountainous terrains of Taego for its exclusive vehicles. Also, Taego is very difficult to travel without a vehicle. So we have high top max speeds to prevent them from being destroyed easily from attacks. However, we have listened to the voices of our community saying the top speeds were too fast, so we have reduced the top speeds of the vehicles.

  • Pony Coupe
    • Normal: Reduced from 140km/h to under 130km/h.
    • Boost: Reduced from 150km/h to under 140km/h.
  • Porter
    • Normal: No changes are applied.
    • Boost: Reduced from 130km/h to under 120km/h.

3.Erangel-Update-1024x576.jpg

An update has been made to Pochinki, one of the most popular drop points for dropping on Erangel. Until now, it was challenging to escape from Pochinki after early match combat without a vehicle. Also, the surrounding area was made up of fields, which made it easy for the enemies to find you. The following updates have been made to address these difficulties. Last but not least, the quality of the terrain around the map has been improved.

  • Pochinki Church Renewal
    • In order to balance with the surrounding two or three-story buildings, we have blocked the church rooftop play.
    • Added a secret room in the basement of the church where items are spawned. This room can be accessed without a key.
  • Updated Terrain Around Pochinki
    • Added waterway.
    • Added cover.
    • Added fences.
    • Fixed terrain height.
  • Improved Pochinki Terrain Quality.

New Feature: Carry

4.Carry_-1024x576.jpg

Making its way to the Battlegrounds this update is the new Carry feature. Be the hero your team deserves by risking it all to carry an ally to safety or take a downed enemy on the adventure of a lifetime – before they bleed out, that is.

There are pros and cons to picking up a downed player. For one, they’ll serve as a sort of human shield, guarding you against some incoming fire (pro for you, con for them…), but in return, you will not be able to sprint, jump, crouch, prone or hurdle, so make sure you choose your rescue route carefully. You can still fire while carrying a player, but your options are reduced to hip fire only. As for the carried player themselves, their bleed-out time will be lowered, and they’ll also be able to spot for you, though their visibility will be limited to whichever way you turn them.

  • Available on all maps.
  • You may pick up any downed player (friend or foe) that is not currently self-reviving or being revived.
  • While carrying a player, the following is true:
    • The following cannot be used.
      • Panzerfaust
      • Melee weapons
      • Throwables (includes Gas/Jerry Can)
      • Emergency Pickup
      • Emergency Parachute
    • You and the carried player still take damage separately.
    • Your movement speed remains the same. However, you cannot crouch, go prone, sprint, jump, or hurdle.
    • You may still fire your weapon, but from the hip only.
    • You may not use healing items.
    • You may not use throwables.
  • While being carried a player, the following is true:
    • Your field of vision is limited to the direction your carrier is facing you.
  • Carried players cannot join you in a vehicle.
  • When the Carrier starts to swim Carry is canceled and the carried person drops/sinks to the bottom.
  • You cannot attach to an Emergency Pickup while carrying a player.
  • You may not use an Emergency Parachute while carrying a player.

New Weapon: Mortar

3.Mortar-1-1024x576.jpg

The new Taego weapon Mortar is easy to use in combat situations, but it can take a lot of practice to achieve reasonable accuracy. First, you must calculate the distance to the target and the expected movement path, so calculate carefully. Once you get used to it, it can be helpful to attack behind ridges where grenades can’t reach or when defending specific areas. Also, it can be effective when destroying vehicles. In particular, you can use various strategies in cooperative play, so be sure to use them in battle!

  • Once looted, it takes up a primary slot.
  • Deployment
    • It can only be deployed on flat surfaces.
      • It cannot be deployed on cement, iron, concrete, water, or wooden floors, or inside buildings.
      • Press RT (Xbox/Stadia)/R2 (PlayStation) button to deploy the Mortar.
      • Press X (Xbox/Stadia)/▢ (PlayStation) to cancel deployment.
    • Requires three seconds for deployment.
  • Firing
    • The character crouches automatically once the firing mode gets activated.
    • The character cannot move until the firing mode gets released.

New Weapon: M79

2.M79-1-1024x576.png

Our new M79 is a smoke grenade launcher that was created to provide quick smoke cover on longer ranges. Blind your enemies, cover your downed teammate or make a grand escape from a losing battle!

New Weapon: M79 can be found, not only in Taego but across all eight maps.

  • Weapon slot: Pistol slot
    • Cannot be used in a vehicle’s driver’s seat.
  • New ammo type: 40mm Smoke Grenade
    • Once it hits an object that’s more than 10m far away, the projectile will release the first smoke effect followed by a second one a few seconds later.
    • Once it hits an object that’s less than 10m far away but fails to explode on impact, only the second smoke effect will be released after 3 seconds.
    • Weight: 14

    • World spawns in stacks of 1 to 3.
    • World spawns in stacks of 2 to 3 along with the M79.

  • Spawn Location

  • Damage to enemies: 0
  • Max firing range: 400m
  • Reloading speed: 3.5 – 4 seconds

New Feature: DBNO Swimming

To improve the survivability of players inside water, we are now supporting DBNO Swimming. Previously a player who enters DBNO while in the water would skip DBNO and instantly die. This made any deep water a hazardous area to traverse. Now a player will instead enter Swimming DBNO, a slow swimming state which gives the player a chance to reach the shore and be revived by teammates. Hopefully, you’ll feel more confident next time you get into a Boat or swim across that river!

  • DBNO Players can swim for at half of the normal speed.
  • The air a player has in their lungs is not reset when entering DBNO, so a player who was drowning will continue to drown in DBNO.
  • In DBNO a player is constantly losing HP. combined with drowning HP loss this means that a DBNO player will die within 10 seconds underwater.
  • Reviving underwater is impossible, and any ongoing revive is canceled when either player goes underwater or moves around too much.
  • It is possible to revive a swimming DBNO player while floating on the water.

World

Taego’s New Creature: Chicken

5.chicken-1-1024x576.jpg

We are proud to introduce the Chicken, a new creature that will hopefully amuse many players during fierce combats in Taego! “Chicken? Why the heck?” you might wonder. The answer to this question is left to your imaginations.

  • Three different conditions apply:
    • Calm
      • This is the default state and, at the same time, the most stable emotional state. Calm as a monk, and nothing special.
    • Fear
      • The Chickens fly, not, run for their lives in the following situations.
        • When hearing
          • Punching
          • Footsteps (except prone sound)
          • Gunshots
          • Engine and exhaust sounds
          • Other creatures die
    • Death
      • Sadly, there’s an end to everything. Taego’s amuser also passes away once hit. They take damages from guns and grenades, then turn into fried chicken upon death. Sorry, a bad joke, they go to where we all go.

Custom Match

Five new Taego areas have been added to the Team Deathmatch preset in Custom Matches.

  • Palace
  • Field
  • Market

Profile Overview

Previously, the Career page was used as the profile screen. It was difficult for players to recognize their status at a glance, and it was also challenging to identify which player they were when viewing other players’ profiles. That’s why we want to provide you with a profile overview where you can see at a glance the current state of yourself and other players. Here, you can show off your fashion sense and skin!

  • You can check the summary of your current season stats in “Career” → “Overview”.
  • You can check the last played match mode, team mode, and season summary information at the time of the current season.
  • Current survival level, last killed weapon mastery information, and last obtained medal information is displayed.
  • The summary of the player’s season stats will be visible in other players’ profiles.
  • Previous records, adding friends, and inviting teams are possible in the same way as in the previous record profile.
  • You can edit emblems, nameplates, character poses, and medals.
  • It may take some time after a match for the stats to be reflected.

  • Palace
  • Field
  • Market
  • Mountain
  • Shipyard

  • We will add a button to the Profile Overview page to link your PUBG account and Krafton ID.
  • With the update, the PUBG account can be linked directly with Krafton ID from the lobby.
