[Resource] Palworld: Where to Find and How to Mine Coal?

Recommended Posts

Palworld, the viral game of 2024, is a survival genre game where crafting and resource gathering are key features of the gameplay. In your journey, one of the most critical resources you'll need is Coal. Here we'll provide a detailed guide explaining what Coal is used for in the game, how it can be mined, and where it can be found in the game's map.

Coal in Palworld: Where to Find it?

Despite being a basic material, Coal is not easily found everywhere in Palworld. On the northern part of the map, Coal can spawn but its dispersion is rare. The desert biome, on the other hand, is rich in Coal. You'd find lumps of coal forming groups of four or five nodes which are easily discernable against the desert's reddish sand backdrop. The nodes are located close to each other and stand out due to their dark color.

However, do take note that the desert biome is inhabited by enemies greater than level 20, so ensure you are well equipped if you are of lower level or use a flying mount to steer clear of potential dangers. To locate the Coal-rich desert biome, you can use the game's interactive map.

Mining Coal in Palworld

Unlike other survival games, Coal in Palworld isn't the easiest resource to mine. No prerequisite tools are required for mining, but we highly recommend a metal pickaxe. This is to ensure durability. The primitive stone pickaxe tends to break with just a single node, which could leave you without a means to collect the Coal.

Furthermore, while preparing for your trip to the north in search of Coal, pack plenty in storage so you can carry more Coal in one go, eliminating the need for multiple trips between your base and the Coal site.

The Utility of Coal in Palworld

In Palworld, Coal is a crucial ingredient in crafting. Primarily, Coal is used in the making of Refined Ingots, provided you have reached Technology Level 34, which enables the crafting of these items with the help of an Improved Furnace.

Making a Refined Ingot requires one Coal and one unit of a specific Ore. Refined Ingots play a major role in crafting advanced items like Assault Rifles, Shotguns, and the one of the most powerful weapons in the game; the Rocket Launcher.
