Recruiting Magneto in Fortnite: A Detailed Guide

If you're a fan of the popular X-Men character Magneto and would like to add him to your Fortnite locker, you'll have to complete a few quests. One such mission will require you to locate and configure Rift Beacons around the map. Here is a detailed guide on how to configure Rift Beacons in Fortnite.

What are Rift Beacons and How to Find Them?

Rift Beacons, a remanent from Chapter Two, Season Four, are essentially solar panels created by Tony Stark or, as you may know him, Iron Man. To configure them, you need to travel to three different spots on the Fortnite map and interact with them. You can execute this task by approaching them and activating them, with the exact button to press varying by platform.

These Rift Beacons were introduced along with Metallica in the June 13 update, and their primary purpose at present is for the Magneto quest. The addition of these beacons also hints at a potential Marvel season in the 2024 roadmap.

Where to Find the Rift Beacons?

You need to visit three Rift Beacons to complete the Magneto quest. Their locations are as follows:

  • The first Rift Beacon is near the north edge of Sandy Steppes. It is located on a cliff outside the house occupied by a character named Hope. You should consider talking with her for a Welcome to the Wasteland quest.
  • The second beacon is situated on a mountain just north of The Underworld. Approaching this mountain from the south could be a challenge, so consider bringing some Nitro Fists, Megalo Don’s Nitro Fists, or a Mythic car.
  • The third Rift Beacon is to the north of Grand Glacier, on a mountain overlooking a small hotel.

Activating the Rift Beacons

Activating all three Rift Beacons might take a few rounds due to the distance between them. To optimize your moves, using a modded vehicle could be the best strategy. This way, you can swiftly travel around while avoiding unnecessary confrontations.

Completing the Magneto Quest

Once all three Rift Beacons are configured, you can lay claim to the Magneto wrap and move a step closer to unlocking the regular Magneto style. If you're set to complete all tasks, don't forget to get Magneto’s Gauntlets and visit the Weapon X Lab as well.
