Fantastic Four Set to Join Marvel Rivals: Official First-Look

Marvel Rivals, the popular PvP shooter, announces a thrilling expansion as the superhero group, The Fantastic Four, takes center stage. Developers NetEase confirmed the exciting news, unveiling an intriguing first-look image, which includes superheroes Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, Thing, and their robot companion, H.E.R.B.I.E.

The image showcases the team in their Fantasticar, the robot H.E.R.B.I.E., and even features the iconic Baxter Building in the backdrop, piquing Marvel fans' anticipation.

Trailer Launch and Playability Questions

Speculations are rife as the developers signaled an upcoming trailer featuring the Fantastic Four, slated for a release on January 6 at 8 am PST. Fans have been expressing their curiosity regarding the playability of robot H.E.R.B.I.E. along with the main members of the Fantastic Four.

Amplifying the excitement, the first-look image displayed a unique visual: bats stealing across the sky underneath a crimson moon, hinting at a possible introduction of Blade in Season 2.

Marvel Rivals: A Phenomenal Success

NetEase's Marvel Rivals has created quite a stir since its inception. The free-to-play superhero team-based game enticed a staggering 10 million players within merely three days and impressively doubled its numbers in two weeks.

Launching across multiple platforms, including PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, Marvel Rivals experienced a massive peak with 480,990 concurrent players over its launch weekend. This achievement landed it in the top five most-played games and clinched the 20th highest concurrent players ever on Valve's platform. It even outshone prominent games such as Helldivers 2, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Destiny 2.

Season 1 Anticipations

Following its successful launch with Season 0, Marvel Rivals is all geared up for Season 1. The in-game battle pass countdown timer suggests that Season 1 is due January 9. Given the recent developments, it seems plausible that the Fantastic Four might be part of this awaited release.
