[Discussion] OpTic Gaming Claims Third Straight Halo Infinite Title at HCS Charlotte Major

Recommended Posts

The Halo Championship Series (HCS) 2023 season kicked off with a bang as OpTic Gaming secured their third consecutive LAN victory at the Charlotte Major. The GreenWall defeated FaZe Clan in a nail-biting Grand Finals that went down to the wire.

The Charlotte Major featured 16 of the best Halo teams from around the world, competing for a share of $250,000 and HCS points. OpTic Gaming entered the event as the favorite, having won both HCS Raleigh and HCS Las Vegas last year.

OpTic Gaming breezed through their group stage matches, dropping only one game to Cloud9. They then advanced to the winners bracket finals, where they faced off against Sentinels, their longtime rivals. OpTic Gaming prevailed in a close 3-2 series, securing their spot in the Grand Finals.

FaZe Clan had a tougher road to the finals, losing to Sentinels in their first match of the event. They then fought their way through the losers bracket, eliminating teams like Cloud9, Native Gaming, and Proton Gaming. They finally got their revenge on Sentinels in the losers bracket finals, winning 3-1 and setting up a showdown with OpTic Gaming.

The Grand Finals was a best-of-seven series that featured some of the most intense Halo action ever seen. Both teams traded blows across different game modes and maps, with neither side giving an inch. The series went all the way to game seven on Plaza Slayer, where OpTic Gaming had a slight lead over FaZe Clan.

FaZe Clan tried to mount a comeback in the final minutes of the game, but OpTic Gaming held them off with clutch kills and smart rotations. FaZe Clan took too long to gather themselves for a final push, and as the last seconds ticked down, OpTic emerged on top with a 42-41 final score.

OpTic Gaming was declared the HCS 2023 Charlotte Kickoff Major Champions. This marks the third consecutive LAN win for the GreenWall - Congratulations! 🎉

I almost got confused between OpTic Gaming and OpTic Texas before I had to think it through and remembered that OpTic Texas is involved in Call of Duty Tournaments while OpTic Gaming is on the Halo Games Franchise Tournaments. Congratulations on their third consecutive LAN win for the Greenwell tournament.
