Zombies Return to Call of Duty Warzone

Recommended Posts

Rebirth of the Dead is dropping today as part of Warzone Season 4 Reloaded and zombies are returning to the Rebirth Island map.  The limited-time mode will offer a 40-player Quads match featuring zombies and eliminated players can return as zombies to gain the chance of returning as their original character via Zombie Syringes.

Player-controlled zombies will feature special abilities to enhance their chance to hunt down players on the mist-covered map.  Players will be able to collect Zombie Syringes through numerous means, such as supply boxes and eliminating players, and will need 4 syringes to revive themselves as the standard operator again.

The zombie features are controlled by a new Infestation Meter that will be filled by players killing standard zombies as KIA spectators wait for the meter to fill and be unleashed as the undead horde.  Squads will also have chances to work together as operators and zombies, as operators will have access to special crates to gather more syringes to recover their teammates.  How involved living teammates will be with their undead squad members is still not known, but the release notes seem to push towards a squad-based interaction to keep teams together.
