The First Descendant Characters and Abilities
In the game, The First Descendant, every character is unique, possessing an exclusive set of skills that dictate how they are played. Despite this individuality, the one ability consistent among all Descendants is the Sub Attack. This article aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of this all-encompassing ability.
Understanding the Sub Attack
In The First Descendant, the Sub Attack primarily serves as your melee strike. Upon using the Sub Attack, your Descendant will perform a melee hit on nearby enemies or inanimate objects with their equipped weapon.
Charged Sub Attack: What it is and How it Works
Further enhancing the capabilities of the Sub Attack is the option to charge it into a more potent form: The Charged Sub Attack. This charged melee attack carries an exponential boost in damage, albeit with a five-second cooldown.
Augmenting Your Sub Attack with Sub Modules
One way to customize your Sub Attack is by incorporating Sub Modules into your loadout. These come in the form of orange Descendant Modules that easily fit into their dedicated slot in your loadout. Here's an example list of the possible Sub Modules you might come across in the game:
List of Sub Modules
Module | Effect |
---|---|
Kicking | Allows you to kick when performing a Charged Sub Attack |
Shortsword | Enables a Shortsword attack during a Charged Sub Attack |
Shock Punch | Use a Shock Punch to attack during a Charged Sub Attack |
Dual Claw | Use a Dual Claw attack during a Charged Sub Attack |
The primary function of the Sub Module is to extend your Descendant's maximum module capacity. This grants one additional capacity at each enhancement level that, when used in conjunction with the Energy Activator, allows you to create the optimal build for your favored character. Invest in your chosen Sub Module by using as many Gold and Kuiper Shards as possible. This will allow additional room for more powerful Modules. The submodule does not affect the damage of your charged subattack, nor is it influenced by skill power stats on your other modules or external components. It's important to note that in most scenarios, this Sub Attack ability proves less useful in combat owing to its prolonged animations and relatively lower damage output compared to conventional skills and weaponry.
