Understanding The First Descendant and How to Clear Outposts

The First Descendant offers a variety of mission types. Sometimes, a battle pass challenge may require you to clear a specific one like an Outpost. If you're not certain about what you need to do in such situations, this guide will explain the process.

Outpost Missions

Outposts are special missions in The First Descendant, which you can unlock by progressing through the main story. Each zone features one Outpost. If you are a beginner, the first Outpost awaits you in Kingston, just north of The Fallen Theater.

Starting the mission is as straightforward as walking in and gunning down enemies. The objective of the mission mainly involves annihilating three cylinders marked A, B, and C on the Outpost.

Suggestion for Beginners

Although it's tempting to charge in and get straight to the cylinders, it's preferable to deal with the smaller enemies or trash mobs first. They are capable of overwhelming you quickly. A smart way to eliminate all enemies without shooting them directly is to employ AOE abilities, like Bunny's ability which electrocutes nearby enemies.

The Boss Enemy

After you've taken care of the cylinders, a boss enemy (indicated with a yellow health bar) spawns. Conquer the boss and the mission concludes. This entire procedure can generally be completed in under two minutes.

Rewards and Advantages

On clearing an Outpost in The First Descendant, there is a minor probability of obtaining a Shape Stabilizer Form, along with a few ordinary Modules. Apart from gaining some XP and currency, the main advantage of clearing the Outpost is to progress through the Daily Mission on the Battle Pass.
