    Destiny 2 Game Modes

    Public Events

Public events are events that occur in the open world that can be joined by any player in the area. They usually involve defeating waves of enemies or completing objectives within a certain time limit.

Public events offer rewards such as experience points, in-game currency, and gear, and they can be a good source of loot for players. They are also a good way to meet other players and participate in cooperative gameplay.

Public events can be identified by a banner on the map and a notification that appears on the player's screen. Players can join the event by interacting with the event banner or by simply joining in the activity.

Public events can also be upgraded to "heroic" difficulty by completing certain objectives, which increases the challenge and rewards.

    Heroic Public Events

Heroic public events are more challenging versions of public events that can be activated by completing certain objectives. They offer better rewards than normal public events, including more experience points and better gear.

To activate a heroic public event, players must complete certain objectives during the normal version of the event. These objectives vary depending on the event, but they usually involve interacting with certain objects or defeating certain enemies.

Once the heroic public event has been activated, the difficulty of the event increases, and players must work together to complete it. Heroic public events offer a greater challenge and require more coordination and teamwork to complete successfully.

Heroic public events are a good source of powerful gear and are a good way for players to test their skills and improve their character's power level.

    Strikes

A strike is a cooperative mission that can be played with a group of three players. Strikes usually involve fighting through waves of enemies and defeating a boss at the end.

Strikes take place in a variety of locations and often have unique themes and objectives. Players can choose from a variety of character classes and use their unique abilities to defeat enemies and complete objectives.

Strikes can be accessed from the Strike playlist in the game's director, and they offer rewards such as experience points, gear, and in-game currency. Strikes can be played on a variety of difficulty levels, and they offer a challenging but rewarding experience for players.

    Nightfall

Nightfall is a more challenging version of a strike that has modifiers that increase the difficulty. It can only be completed once per week and rewards powerful gear.

Nightfall strikes are more difficult than regular strikes and are intended for players who are looking for a greater challenge. They feature special modifiers that change the gameplay and make the strike more difficult. For example, modifiers might increase the damage dealt by enemies or decrease the player's health.

Nightfall strikes are a good source of powerful gear and are a good way for players to test their skills and improve their character's power level. They are accessed from the Nightfall menu in the game's director and are only available on certain days of the week.

    Raids

A raid is a challenging cooperative activity that requires a team of six players to complete. Raids are longer and more complex than strikes, and they often involve challenging puzzles and boss encounters.

Raids take place in a variety of locations and often have unique themes and objectives. Players can choose from a variety of character classes and use their unique abilities to defeat enemies, solve puzzles, and complete objectives.

Raids are considered the most challenging PvE content in the game, and they offer some of the best rewards, including powerful gear and in-game currency. However, they also require a high level of coordination and teamwork to complete successfully.

Raids can be accessed from the Raid menu in the game's director, and they are available in both normal and prestige difficulty levels. Completing a raid is a significant accomplishment for players and can be a very rewarding experience.

    Crucible

The Crucible is the player versus player (PvP) mode, where players can compete against each other in various match types.

The Crucible features a variety of maps and game modes, including control, survival, and clash. In control, players compete to capture and hold control points on the map. In survival, players compete to be the last team standing. In clash, players compete to be the first team to reach the score limit.

In the Crucible, players can choose from a variety of character classes and use their unique abilities to defeat other players. The Crucible is a fast-paced and competitive mode that offers a different type of gameplay experience from the PvE content in the game.

Players can access the Crucible from the Crucible menu in the game's director. It is a popular mode for players who enjoy competitive multiplayer gameplay.

    Gambit

Gambit is a hybrid player versus environment (PvE) and player versus player (PvP) mode that pits two teams of four players against each other. In Gambit, each team works to defeat enemies and collect motes, which are small orbs-like objects. Players can deposit motes into a central bank to summon a powerful boss called a Primeval.

The first team to defeat their Primeval wins the match. However, players can also disrupt the other team's progress by invading their side of the map and attacking them. This adds an element of strategy and player interaction to the mode.

Gambit is a fast-paced and action-packed mode that combines the challenges of PvE gameplay with the thrill of PvP competition. It is accessed from the Gambit menu in the game's director and is a popular choice for players who enjoy a mix of cooperative and competitive gameplay.
