The Fundamentals of Destiny 2: Bygones
Venturing deep into the world of Destiny 2, we encounter a legendary pulse rifle, Bygones, which has made its triumphant return in Episode Revenant. With its updated perk pool and familiar aesthetics, the reintroduced version of Bygones packs a punch as a Kinetic Adaptive Frame pulse rifle with a firing rate of 390 RPM. Equipped with brand new perks such as Kinetic Tremors and Keep Away, the weapon stands its ground, matching the prowess of the latest seasonal arsenal. Here, we delve into the optimal god rolls and superior perks for both PvE (Player vs Environment) and PvP (Player vs Player), alongside some viable alternatives.
Mastering Bygones: God Rolls for PvE and PvP
- Barrel: Extended Barrel
- Magazine: Appended Mag or Armor-Piercing Rounds
- Perk one: Outlaw or Subsistence
- Perk two: Firefly or Kinetic Tremors
- Masterwork: Reload Speed
- Weapon Mod: Synergy
When it comes to achieving the best performance with Bygones–the PvE god roll would be: Extended Barrel for the barrel, Appended Mag or Armor-Piercing Rounds for the magazine, and either Outlaw or Subsistence for the first perk. The secondary perk would be Firefly or Kinetic Tremors while Reload Speed for Masterwork, and Synergy for Weapon Mod are also encouraged.
- Barrel: Arrowhead Brake or Hammer-Forged Rifling
- Magazine: Ricochet Rounds or High-Caliber Rounds
- Perk one: Keep Away or Zen Moment
- Perk two: Headseeker
- Masterwork: Range
- Weapon Mod: Counterbalance Stock
In the PvP arena, we advise going for Arrowhead Brake or Hammer-Forged Rifling for the barrel, Ricochet Rounds, or High-Caliber Rounds for the magazine. The first perk should either be Keep Away or Zen Moment, with Headseeker filling up the second perk slot. Range in Masterwork is vital, and a Counterbalance Stock is always useful.
PvE offers a wide range of perk combinations, including Subsistence and Outlaw, each with its distinct benefits. For example, Outlaw can drastically boost your reload speed, while Subsistence is a more accessible trigger. Consider Demolitionist to enhance a grenade-oriented gameplay strategy. These perks can be paired with Firefly or Kinetic Tremors to up the ante on the weapon's area of effect damage. PvP enthusiasts can enjoy a classic combo of Keep Away and Headseeker, reminiscent of the new Vantage Point seasonal pulse rifle. As an alternative, Zen Moment can be employed to lower recoil and flinch, thereby improving your shooting accuracy.
Unlocking Bygones: How to Acquire It
As Bygones is linked to Gambit, earning it invariably involves playing Gambit matches to gather engrams and focus. This involves enhancing your reputation rank with the Drifter by completing matches. Unlike many weapons in Destiny 2, Bygones does not require previous collection unlocks. Just accumulate your Gambit Engrams, visit the Drifter, and head to the Focused Decoding tab to focus your weapon. With just one engram necessary per weapon roll, a useful piece should be within your grasp after a few Gambit games.
