Pred of Seattle Surge was named 2022 Call of Duty Rookie of the Year

Yesterday may not have gone the way of Seattle as they fell to the elimination bracket after a tough loss to FaZe, but Pred was awarded the league's Rookie of the Year reward after a spectacular season so far.

The Call of Duty League announced today before the second day of matches at the CDL Championship that Seattle Surge’s Amer “Pred” Zulbeari had won the 2022 Rookie of the Year award. The first APAC player to win a CDL Major, Pred dominated submachine gun play during this year’s Major Three, earning him MVP and helping his team claim the Major win.

According to Dot Esports, the 20-year-old leader of the Seattle Surge led or tied his own team for first in kill-to-death ratios. Only Minnesota RØKKR’s Attach and league MVP frontrunners Cellium and Dashy finished with better K/D ratios than Seattle’s leader, who finished fourth overall at 1.09.

It's been a great year for Pred, who has already earned multiple awards and had a strong playoff performance. Seattle is a force to contend with in the elimination bracket and seeing Pred in the Championship match is certainly not a longshot.
