Beta Steam users can now use their Switch Joy-Cons with Steam
On August 5, PCGamer reported that the Steam Client Beta had been re-released and updated, allowing for official support of Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers. The Joy-Cons can be used individually as a mini-gamepad or in pairs with the Steam Deck. Improved support for Nintendo Online Classic controllers was also provided with the update. Users must first access the Steam Client Beta and then click "Steam," "Settings," and "Account" to change the "Beta Participation" setting. Click "Steam Beta Update" from the dropdown menu and restart Steam to finish the installation. Steam supports a wide range of controllers, both wired and wireless and including other Nintendo controllers. Unfortunately, there is no way to wire your Joy-Cons to your PC setup, so you'll have to use bluetooth for the connection. Photo by Michael Adeleye -

Ranked Duos, Better Customization, and Easier Challenge Tracking Coming to Halo Infinite This Month
The next Halo Drop Pod, arriving on August 9, will focus on improving the player experience in several areas. This update will enhance customization options for each player, include QoL improvements, and prepare the ground for even more community-desired features. Currently, there are a variety of visors in the game split across the 5 armor cores. If you want to use the shiny gold Noble visor the August Drop Pod will bring it to you. All visors in the game currently and in the future will be compatible with all armor core helmets. This update will make it simpler to add more Ranked playlists in the future and Ranked Doubles will be the first one out of the gate two weeks after the Drop Pod is released - along with a CSR reset. In addition, a social Team Doubles playlist will be available on its launch date, doubling the amount of 2v2 action in Halo Infinite. There is no visible change just yet, but this Drop Pod also contains a lot of the prerequisites for enabling Region Select. With this feature, players would be able to choose whether to search across all regions (which would be faster) or their local region (which would have better ping times). Regions are still in development, but players may notice some of the groundwork that has been done to get things started. Along with these changes, players will now be able to view their active Challenges while on the pause menu during a match thanks to this Drop Pod release. It's worth noting that this screen will not currently display the precise figures for your Challenges (remaining or total). LA Thieves Dominate For Organizations First Ever CDL Championship Win!
LA Thieves won the CDL Championship thanks to their exceptional display of individual and team prowess. This was an historical moment for the Thieves, as it marked the organization's first CDL Championship win in the history of the League, and the first ring for each of the four players involved. It's indisputable that Octane, Envoy, Kenny, and Drazah are a powerhouse team. However, the Call of Duty League 2022 season has ended because of their tremendous victory over Atlanta FaZe in the CDL Championships. The Thieves secured back-to-back wins in the opening four games of the final match against FaZe. Atlanta FaZe recouped slightly on Bocage and then Berlin Control in SnD, but it wasn’t sufficient to prevent the Thieves from winning. After a grueling final 11-round SnD on Tuscan, the LA Thieves seized the $1.2 million prize and lifted the trophy in the Galen Center, in Los Angeles. In the beginning of the 2022 Call of Duty League season, the LA Thieves weren't able to win a Major tournament and didn't appear to be on a path to winning anyone soon. Major IV, however, saw the Thieves' players take off, grinding to the finish line and winning the first Call of Duty League championship for the organization. After winning their first Major just weeks ago, the Thieves have won again, securing the grand prize and anouther first for the organization. Throughout the season, Atlanta FaZe was not doing very well. Many people might argue that there was a curse on this team, and the reigning champions from the 2021 season did not win any of the four Major tournaments spread throughout the season. Even though the squad remained stable and finished first in the regular season, it wasn’t enough, and FaZe will now begin the 2023 CDL season with a lot of work to do. Atlanta FaZe would have been known as the greatest COD team in Call of Duty League history had they won the championship. Despite the fact that they still feature some of the very best Call of Duty players in the world, flying the Atlanta FaZe red flag, there is no doubt that the team would have been regarded as the best COD squad ever had they won the league. Rostermania for CDL 2022 is approaching fast, and teams will be swapping players during the downtime that occurs during the winter season.
