The pro players are skeptical about the readiness of CS2 for competitive play due to various gameplay and technical issues. They criticize character movement, delayed grenade detonation, and inconsistent smoke mechanics. Some players feel that the movement in CS2 is not as smooth as in CS:GO and that smokes continue to spread in strange shapes after being thrown. Valve has made updates to address some of these issues but has not yet fully resolved them. However, there are positive aspects, such as the change in the length of competitive matches, which some players appreciate. Overall, it will take time for players to adjust to the changes in CS2, and the launch may be delayed.
