Respawn Entertainment, the developer behind the popular battle royale game Apex Legends, has announced that it will be sunsetting its mobile version of the game. The decision, made in collaboration with the game's development partner, was made after the content pipeline for the mobile game failed to meet the high standards set by the development team.

Starting from January 31st, 2023, the game will no longer be available for purchase on app stores and all real money in-app purchases will be disabled. Players will be able to spend their existing Syndicate Gold and continue playing the game until May 1st, 2023, when operations will cease in all regions, making the game unplayable.

Respawn Entertainment and the Apex Legends team remain optimistic about the future of mobile gaming and hope to serve players in new ways in the future. The company has assured players that it will be available to answer any questions and offer support throughout the transition.

In a statement, Respawn said, "Our love for the Apex universe and our players remains unchanged. We look forward to exploring this universe, its characters, and its stories along with you."

Good grief, I have been expecting that to happen for a long time because after my experience with playing Apex Legends on mobile, it felt awfully bad when compared to what you get from playing it on other platforms.ย
