How much do you spend on game's yearly?

Recommended Posts

Do you have a fixed budget for your gaming needs every year or do you just spend whenever something that's worth it pops up? I have a friend who spends awfully a lot of money on games every month. He spends more than $1k on Top Eleven Football Manager every month buying the in game cosmetics and players upgrades and I'm sure that he plays and spends on other game's microtransactions. I won't spend more than $500 on games every year unless it's a rare occasion.

Being that a lot of the games I play now are free-to-play I don't tend to spend as much money on new games each year as I used to. I would normally buy the new Call of Duty every years until that started getting stale and then I stopped buying it then there would be times that I would buy games if I had seen one that I was interested in but that doesn't happen so much now.

This year I am looking to get Hogwarts Legacy and then possibly the new Just Dance later in the year so we are talking probably less than £100 for me this year. I tend to spend more now on in-game purchases such as for Fortnite or even Destiny 2 when I have the chance.

If it's possible for me to go down the path of mostly playing only free to play video games, it's definitely going to cut down my big spending on games. I would only have to worry about the microtransactions in the free games. But unfortunately, free games doesn't give me all I want in games.

I don’t have a fixed budget. There have been times when I’ve spent a lot, and I mean A LOT, on in-game purchases but nowadays I don’t really spend much or anything on games anymore.

What happened with me is that I no longer play as much as I used to, so this helped to drop down on my budget. I have got other bigger fishes to fry which impacted on my gaming time, so I won't have to spend more on games when I can't play them all.
