Rumors of Overwatch getting a battle royale

So the other day I was talking to my eldest son who is a huge fan of Overwatch and has been playing a lot of Overwatch 2 since it went free to play in October last year. He mentioned that he had heard rumors online that Overwatch may be considering a battle royale mode. I feel that is a little strange being how the game is played with different heroes who have different abilities. I am not sure how an Overwatch Battle Royale would work unless they really changed things up for that mode specifically.

What are your thoughts? Could Overwatch bring in a battle royale and make it work?

Yes, your son is very correct about the rumor he heard about Overwatch getting a battle royale. It's only available in the custom game mode. Hopefully, it's going to be something big like what we have in playing other battle royale games like Fortnite and the rest.
