You can now apply for a refund from Epic Games’ Fortnite FTC settlement

Recommended Posts

From The Verge:

TL;DR: You can now apply for a refund as part of the $245 million settlement between the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Epic Games, the maker of Fortnite. The FTC alleged that players were tricked into buying in-game goods by design tactics. To be eligible, you must have been charged for unwanted items between January 2017 and September 2022, had unauthorized charges made by your child between January 2017 and November 2018, or had your account locked after disputing wrongful charges. The refund form must be completed by January 17th, 2024, and refunds will vary based on the number of claims. Visit www.ftc.gov/Fortnite for more information and to apply.

As someone who's been part of the Fortnite community, it's a significant development. This move reflects the importance of fair and transparent practices in the gaming industry, and I appreciate the steps taken to address any concerns. It's a reminder that player trust and satisfaction are paramount, and I'm curious to see how this refund process will unfold. Kudos to Epic Games for taking responsibility and making amends where necessary.
