  1. 1. Do you use a custom built PC or a prebuilt PC?

I have a custom built. Sucks that it is so difficult to upgrade right now, but to me, it’s worth waiting for. Just need to find some DDR5…

Seems to be a common problem, hopefully things will get better. I really hope that DDR5 will overcome the shortages as it isn't really needed for minging and really can be passed by many people.  So maybe, just maybe... But probably not. 😞

Guess I’ll be sitting on these parts for a while. Bring a PC is rough sometimes.

My husband and I both have laptops however, he has built us a customized PC dedicated to just gaming. It's been a few years since the initial build I imagine we will want to upgrade some of the components soon.

That is one of the best features of a custom built machine.  Being able to upgrade it years down the road instead of needing to buy a new system.

My one friend has been trying to build a PC for over a year now and still hasn't been able to get everything in.

This is actually why most people try as much as possible to stay away from trying to build their own PC. You would eventually end up struggling with upgrading it. Prebuilt works fine for me. Maybe in the future, building my own will be a lot feasible.

I at the moment have a prebuilt PC that I have had for just over 5 years. It was something I got back in early 2018 so that I could not only play games but also stream Xbox and Nintendo Switch games as well.

My next one will more than likely be prebuilt as well as I find that easier than buying all the parts and having to put it together myself, less chance of something going wrong.

It's been with me the use of prebuilt PC's ever since I started using one. They have been good because I make sure to get the best specifications in what I need. But after seeing what Ford was able to do in his favourite activity thread on SCF, Mehn, I was so impressed. I read to built one for myself.

The first computer I used was a custom-built one. However, it was for general purposes (not a gaming computer). In the last 10 years or more, I have been using pre-built laptop. However, I am thinking of getting a custom-built computer. I want a high-end gaming PC.

If you have the knowledge on how to build your own custom PC, it's definitely going to be better because you're going to make sure that everything you wanted in the PC's specifications will be looked out for. Although, it's going to be more expensive but it's going to be worth it.
