If you could purchase any retro console, which one would you go for?

Over the years we have seen many consoles released, some have been great and were a joy to play and others were not as good and were somewhat of a disappointment.

It is possible for you to purchase retro consoles if you may not have access to them anymore but in some cases, this can be quite expensive to do and is not always possible for everyone.

If you were able to buy your favorite retro console now, which one would it be?

We used to have an Atari 5200 when I was growing up as a teen and I loved it! My mom used to beat all the high scores while my sister and I were in school. I'd really love that system again as long as the games we played, just for the memories. I still don't think I could beat my mom's high scores though!

It was Atari 2600 that I got from my uncle years ago. It was a fine retro console in every way. I wouldn't mind getting it again if I can see where to buy it at a fair offer. There's levels to how unique games on those system used to be.

Tbh, I don't think there's inherently anything stopping you from buying a retro console outside of just not wanting to do it. Outside of the "boutique" consoles, they're not expensive to get into.

They're cheaper than new consoles

Most of the games are cheaper than new games

Most of the popular consoles are on or around $100, and most of the popular games people played are at worst $40-50. A PS5 is like $500 and the games are $70?

I do find it weird how common people think it's hard or expensive to get into.

I would go for the N64, or maybe the SNES, either way both have a ton of games I still like to play and replay. One of these days I will go backwards, as I won't enjoy all the future games forever.

Donkey Kong got me so hooked on SuperNES. N64 was great but I had more connection with SuperNES than I ever did with N64. What's your favorite game on N64?
