  3. It was a culmination of multiple factors that all added up to its failure: Bad advertising - they focused a lot on advertising backwards compatability with the Wii and also just focused on the tablet controller. Basically people didn't know it was a new console, and just as a tablet add-on for the Wii. Lack of third party support - underpowered compared to PS4/XB1, and the tablet controller didn't help. The poor sales also added to the negative feedback loop from customers and developers. One of the biggest problems was the Wii itself. The Wii caused a lot of damage to Nintendo's image despite the commercial success of it. People probably forgot by now, but the Wii did not have a good reputation with gamers by the end of its life. Nintendo realized it was very appealing to the casual market, and pumped a ton of resources to that. It was also cheap to develop for, so the Wii was notorious for the amount of shovelware. In hindsight, people can remember all the great games they played on the Wii, but forgot the long droughts between the big releases, and in between that, it was party game number 300, or shovelware. So by the time the Wii U came out, people were getting sick of Nintendo. So when the Wii U came out, it wasn't given its own identity. It was heavily reliant on the Wii branding. "Remember the Wii? Rememer the Wii?". So you ended up with one of two extremes: didn't know it was a new console, or: people were pissed that it felt like a continuation of the Wii. So while I say all that, you can see that most of those factors were less to do with the console, and more of outside factors. Ironically, despite the poor sales. The Wii U actually had more higher rated games per capita than the PS4 and Xbox One. Also the Switch ports of the various Wii U games are well liked, and very little tweaking. Though despite a ton of people who owned one actually enjoyed their time on it, the fact that the majority of the library is available on the Switch kind of defeats the purpose of owning the console.

  4. I've only played multiplayer for Halo Infinite and never bought the campaign due to lack of funds and the fact that I prefer Call of Duty over Halo. I'd love to give it a try one day if I ever will be able to again.

  10. Howdy ya'll! Found this site through a mutual. My name is KensonPlays but you can also call me "KP" for short. I am a 29-yo in Texas, and I love dinosaurs! Yes. I've played probably nearly 4-5k hours of dinosaur games or more over the last couple decades. One of my most played are ARK Survival Evolved at just about half of my total playtime. More to know about me? I run a PG community and love to provide a chill, relaxed atmosphere for people of all ages.

  11. I'm an action fan! My daughter had a bunch of games where a story was involved, and I felt it just wasted so much time loading the screens. Get to playing is my opinion, because THAT is why I buy the games anyway.

  14. You should start putting your money on lottery. You might end up winning millions of dollars from it because it was Baldur's Gate 3 that scooped the award just like you predicted. It was indeed a great release.

  15. I have been enjoying the Zombies mode quite a bit. However, the rest is still iffy. The gameplay itself has been one of my favorite Call of Duy games, but the SBMM is hard to enjoy in 6v6 and the campaign is a failure at best. The game itself is still facing some problems with bugs, packet loss is ruining the highly competitive multiplayer, and server issues are your most likely reason to die and lose your gear in Zombies. There are a bunch of other issues like MW2 guns being added, but all subpar to the new guns which really defeats the entire purpose.

  16. Naughty Dog, the acclaimed developer, is set to release The Last of Us Part II Remastered for the PlayStation 5 on January 19, 2024. This eagerly anticipated remaster promises to offer both new and returning players the definitive way to experience the emotional and gripping sequel to the original, which was initially released in 2020. The Last of Us Part II Remastered comes packed with exciting new features and game modes. One of the standout additions is the "No Return" mode, a roguelike survival experience that introduces randomized encounters, allowing players to test their skills in fresh, challenging scenarios. This mode offers a variety of playable characters, each with unique traits to suit different playstyles. Players will navigate a series of stealth and combat encounters against a range of enemies, with unexpected twists adding excitement to each confrontation. As you progress, you can unlock new characters, skins, and more to customize your runs and compete on a global leaderboard in the Daily Run. Fans of the original game's guitar-playing sequences will be pleased to hear about the new "Guitar Free Play" mode. This mode lets you strum the strings of various unlockable instruments, apply audio FX pedals to modulate your performance and play as different characters in different in-game locations, allowing you to create a personalized musical experience. A Deeper Dive Behind the Scenes The Last of Us Part II Remastered offers players an exclusive look behind the scenes with a new set of "Lost Levels." These levels provide insight into the game's development and include developer commentary to provide context and a deeper understanding of the creative process. This unique addition allows players to explore early-development slices of the game, offering new glimpses into the world of Part II. Additionally, director's commentary from Neil Druckmann, narrative lead Halley Gross, and actors Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, and Laura Bailey has been newly recorded and is included across the campaign's cutscenes. This commentary offers valuable insight into the story and characters that have captivated both the development team and fans. Enhanced Graphics and Immersive Features The remastered version takes full advantage of the PlayStation 5's capabilities. It features enhanced graphics, including native 4K output in Fidelity Mode, 1440p upscaled to 4K in Performance Mode, and an Unlocked Framerate option for VRR-supported TVs. Players can expect increased texture resolution, improved shadow quality, animation sampling rate, and more, bringing the world of The Last of Us Part II to life with greater richness and detail. The PlayStation 5's power and features are also harnessed for improved loading times. DualSense wireless controller haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are integrated to further immerse players in the game's combat and exploration moments. The Last of Us Part II Remastered ensures that the award-winning suite of accessibility options from the original is retained. New additions include Descriptive Audio and Speech to Vibrations, which uses the DualSense controller to indicate character speech and cadence. Speedrun Mode, previously included in The Last of Us Part I, makes its way to Part II Remastered, allowing players to compete for the best times. Preorders and Upgrades Preorders for The Last of Us Part II Remastered will be available from December 5. Existing owners of The Last of Us Part II on PlayStation 4 can upgrade to the digital version of Part II Remastered for $10 USD at launch. They can also import their saves from the original game to continue their journey with Ellie and Abby. The Last of Us Part II Remastered promises to be the definitive way to experience this emotionally charged and visually stunning game. 18. I like Mario and Donkey Kong type games the most followed by racing ones, and next, sports ones. I can't really say the type that interests me the least. Well, I was into The Legend of Zelda at one time and I could get into many types of genres if I wanted to.

  19. I have watched a lot of SAW movies. Are SAW games based? on SAW movies? SAW movies are some of the most disturbing movies I have ever watched. Have you watched SAW movies? How do you compare SAW game with SAW movies? I think you really need to try Visage. It is one of the sacriest horror games I have ever played. If you like slow paced game, Visage is perfect.

  26. I know of quite a few people who have played Starfield and they seem to be enjoying it but I have not as of yet jumped on to check it out. I do know that there was quite a lot of controversy regarding the game when it was released but that seems to have died down somewhat now. It's definitely a game to check out that is on my list!

  29. Some games are just better with friends, you know? It really comes down to what you like and the particular game you're talking about. Playing with friends provides the gamer with emotional support if part of the chapter is too scary. Honestly, I am not really afraid of playing alone but sometimes it's nice to play with someone else.

  33. I won't deny that I am going to be a little disappointed if this does end up being true. I think so many of us who used to be big Call of Duty fans are waiting for something completely new and something that ended up being why we loved Call of Duty in the first place but it seems if this does come to fruition that may not be the case at least as of yet.

  34. It is no news that Overwatch 2 has had nothing but issues and also complaints since the game released with some cosmetics that used to be what you could earn through loot boxes being released as paid in-game items since the game went free and also the issues of the game not really having much of a difference compared to Overwatch before the game went free. My eldest son is a huge fan of Overwatch and has been playing since Overwatch was released in 2016. He has since moved to Overwatch 2 and was very excited for the release of Overwatch 2 but even he feels that the game is dying now due to the issues. What are your thoughts? Is Overwatch dying or can they redeem themselves?

  35. It was definitely a reskin of the old game without any viable changes or improvement in the game mechanics. They took a copy of what EA have been doing with their FIFA franchise for years. I'm one of the supporters for getting rid of the loot boxes, if they want to monetize their game, they should look more at Epic Games tactics.

  37. Mehn, that's going to be a hell of design it's going to come out with. It's going to have a touch of Amazon in it's design. It's definitely going to look cool. I would like to have such too.

  38. Mine last quite a long time. My N64 controller lasted until the Xbox came out. My OG Xbox controller lasted until I got an Xbox One, and then my Xbox one elite controlled lasted quite a few years until the rubber grips started to fall off. Generally, I only grab a new controller when I need a new feature, which is why I got the elite as I believe I needed an updated controller for using a headset adapter or something.

  40. So with the new season of Fortnite already being out nearly a week, many of you will now know that the tier 100 skin in the battle pass is Transformers. As much as I am not a huge fan of Transformers, I do think it is cool that we have a skin like that in the game now. Some people may already have the skin if they bought through the battle pass to tier 100. What are your thoughts on the tier 100 skin?

  42. I was very much aware when they released Fall Guys Season 4 but I couldn't get on with playing it. I was very occupied with some other games I was playing then including Fortnite too. From what I heard, with bringing the creative mode to the Ultimate Knockout had a great impact on the game. It was a great copy from Fortnite.

  43. This is my first time of hearing about YouNow. How's their payment structure like? If it's something good which makes it easier to get paid from your streams using the channel, then it's good one. It's just like what Kick is doing for small streamers.

  46. I did hear that the dinos would have energy that depletes this time but not sure what kind of energy. It could be energy like boars and wolves had where if you fed them it increase or it could even be battery energy like they have done in the past with the mechs we had. Curious to see where they take this though and really hoping if we get the Lego Crossover, I hope they do it right. Not going to lie, would love to see Lego characters in Fortnite ๐Ÿ˜„

  47. I think that's the path Microsoft have planed to take with ending a yearly release of Call of Duty games. It's a nice approach to be very honest with you because too much rush in releasing the game every year isn't helping it anymore.

  48. You can never go wrong with using Titian. It's why I choose it as my first usual go to all the time whenever I need to play and I have never been disappointed.

  49. It has to be Destiny 2 for me. I remember when the first Destiny came out, I played it and I had a lot of fun with it. I got a lot of time to be able to play it quite a bit as when it was released, it was around the time I had my gallbladder removed and I had to rest for quite a while and after having some complications, I was on strict bed rest so being able to play Destiny was a good way of passing the time. Since getting Destiny 2 and playing through that, it is my most preferred out of the two but I feel they have done more with Destiny 2 this time.
