  1. From Charlie INTEL: Fortnite’s 21.50 update is here, giving dataminers even more content to sift through in the game files. Leaker HYPEX claims the new files reference Oculus, likely meaning VR support is coming to Fortnite in the future. Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 is drawing to a close, with Season 4 set to arrive in mid-September. Epic aren’t slowing down ahead of the new season though, as they dropped the 21.50 update on August 30, bringing back Late Game Arenas and introducing the Shadow of Phantasm week. These updates always give leakers an insight into what’s to come, and new files added in 21.50 suggest that virtual reality support could be coming to Fortnite in a future season. According to popular leaker HYPEX, “Epic added stuff related to Oculus (Quest, Quest 2 & Mobile)” in the 21.50 update. They believe this means there’s “most likely proper VR support in the future.” Epic added stuff related to Oculus (Quest, Quest 2 & Mobile) in today's update. Most likely proper VR support in the future.. — HYPEX (@HYPEX) August 30, 2022 While it’s unclear what Fortnite would look like in VR, some have speculated that it will use the first-person mode that has been leaked for a while now. HYPEX reported back in July that a first-person mode was “updated quite a few times,” and suggested we might see it in Season 4. However, even if the first-person mode arrives with Season 4, it could be much longer until we see VR support added. Perhaps it will come with the Creative 2.0 update which will allow players to create their own games in Fortnite. But, this is just a leak for now with no confirmation from Epic Games, so there’s no guarantee that Fortnite will receive VR support. Not much has been leaked about Chapter 3 Season 4 yet, but you’ll want to make sure you’ve unlocked Indiana Jones and stayed on top of the weekly quests to unlock all of the Battle Pass skins before they disappear to make way for the next batch. 3. From IGN News: Bungie has revealed a ton of new information regarding Destiny 2's upcoming Lightfall expansion including a February 28 release date. Announced during its Destiny 2 Showcase 2022, Lightfall will mark "the beginning of the end" and is set to be the next major expansion that pushes Destiny 2's story and gameplay forward, featuring the game's second Darkness subclass called Stand. This new style of play appears to be heavily linked to traversal, as players will use it to grapple and swing around a whole new Destiny 2 map on Neptune. Strand involves the manipulation of spooky green psychic energy and will materialise in different ways depending on which class the player uses. The Neptune map is called Neo Luna, a newly discovered city built by an alternate evolution of humanity. Unlike the derelict and destroyed communities that the known version of humans left behind, however, this new city is a thriving metropolis. It acts as a battlefield in Lightfall as Calus arrives, allied with new big-bad The Witness, and the player is tasked with saving the day once again. Guardian Ranks is another new feature coming to Destiny 2 in Lightfall, with the intention being to to introduce new players to every element of the game. The 11 available ranks will take players through each type of activity, map, raid, and so on in order to slowly but surely explain how each part of Destiny 2 works. Also on the accessibility front, Bungie is adding a Fireteam Finder (essentially cooperative matchmaking) sometime in 2023. Given that Lighfall is also the next part in an ongoing story being told in the Light and Darkness Saga, Bungie has confirmed it will not remove any past expansions so that new players can experience the entire story. To celebrate the announcement, Bungie has also made every one of the game's expansions free for one week starting today, August 23. In our 8/10 review of the base game released in 2017, IGN said: "Destiny 2's excellent co-op and competitive shooting, rewarding loot, and strong social elements will keep us playing." Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelancer. He'll talk about The Witcher all day. Read More: Full Article on IGN News
  4. From TechCrunch: Sony has raised the price of PlayStation 5 in most major markets, citing “challenging economic conditions” such as high global inflation rates and adverse currency trends, the latest in a series of challenges engulfing the current generation gaming console. The new price, which largely varies between $30 to $80, goes immediately into effect in Europe, the UK, China, Australia, Mexico and Canada, the company said in a blog post. The revised price will hit Japan on September 15, said the Japanese conglomerate. The U.S. is not impacted by the price hike, the company confirmed. “While this price increase is a necessity given the current global economic environment and its impact on SIE’s business, our top priority continues to be improving the PS5 supply situation so that as many players as possible can experience everything that PS5 offers and what’s still to come,” Sony said in the post. The new price is as follows: Europe PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – €549.99 (previously €499) PS5 Digital Edition – €449.99 (previously €399) UK PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – £479.99 (previously £449) PS5 Digital Edition – £389.99 (previously £359) Japan (effective Sept. 15, 2022) PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – ¥60,478 yen (previously ¥49,980) PS5 Digital Edition – ¥49,478 yen (previously ¥39,980) China PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – ¥4,299 yuan PS5 Digital Edition – ¥3,499 yuan Australia PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – AUD $799.95 (previously AUD $749) PS5 Digital Edition – AUD $649.95 (previously AUD $599) Mexico PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – MXN $14,999 PS5 Digital Edition – MXN $12,499 Canada PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – CAD $649.99 (previously CAD $629) PS5 Digital Edition – CAD $519.99 (previously CAD $499) In other words, Sony wants to keep hardware profitability stable, is passing on increased costs to consumers, and expects high demand for the console will allow it to hit FY targets. 30% IB) — Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX) August 25, 2022 The price hike comes at a time when several gaming giants including rivals Nintendo and Microsoft have seen a slowdown in sales. “Given the facts that the PS5 has been severely supply constrained since launch, with many consumers unable to buy Sony’s latest console, and the fact that Microsoft has shown no indication yet of increasing its Xbox Series pricing, there is no doubt that this price increase will have been a hard decision to make,” wrote Ampere Analysis analyst Piers Harding-Rolls on the price hike. “However, with inflation and price increases being felt through the component supply chain, much of that priced in US dollars, alongside continued high costs in distribution, Sony has now had to pass on some of those cost increases to try and maintain its hardware profitability targets. It follows price increase across the consumer electronics sector including Meta’s Oculus Quest 2, which saw $100 increase in early August.” Microsof... Read More: Full Article on TechCrunch
  5. From Charlie INTEL: Vanguard Season 5 has brought plenty of new weapons to the game, but the developers may have accidentally revealed another new gun set to arrive later down the line. Sledgehammer Games have clearly gone all out for Vanguard Season 5, the final chapter before Modern Warfare 2 becomes the main focus. Players have Umbrella Academy skins to unlock, as well a brand-new Zombies map to get stuck into. On top of all of this, there are also some new weapons to experiment with, with the EX1 Energy Rifle and RA 225 SMG available at launch, and even more to come. But it appears that the devs may have even more content planned as the season moves on, as players have spotted a hint that another new gun could be on the way. Reddit user deathyw posted a screenshot from the Records tab in the main Vanguard menu, where players can go to check their K/D and performance with each weapon. Among guns like the Armaguarra 43 and BAR, they spotted a weapon that isn’t actually available in-game yet, the Chauchat. This French LMG featured heavily in both the First and Second World War and even inspired the Ribeyrolles SMG from CoD WWII, so it would certainly make sense for it to arrive in Vanguard. However, when the devs unveiled the roadmap for new weapons in Vanguard and Warzone Season 5, there was no mention of the Chauchat. new lmg still to come ??? from CODVanguard This has led fans to believe that the Chauchat could feature once Season 5 has ended and Modern Warfare 2 has been released. Although the latest CoD always becomes the primary focus, older titles still receive support as we’ve seen with Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War. “My guess is it was supposed to be a for a hypothetical season 6. Think about it. This has happened with Modern Warfare and Cold War,” said one reply. “So we probably won’t get it for a while.” If the Chauchat has already made its way into the menus, then it’s possible that the weapon is in the developer’s plans and we’ll see it in Vanguard one day. However, we’ll have to wait and see what Sledgehammer have up their sleeves once Vanguard’s lifecycle has ended. For more on CoD Vanguard, take a look at the full Season 5 Battle Pass, and how to unlock the RA 225 SMG. 6. From Dot Esports: One of the most successful pros in Call of Duty esports history will be representing a new franchise next year. Arcitys, who spent the last two seasons with the Atlanta FaZe, has been acquired by the Los Angeles Guerrillas for the 2023 Call of Duty League season, the organization announced today. LAG revealed its starting lineup heading into the upcoming season, which will feature Arcitys playing alongside Huke, Spart, and Neptune, who all ended the 2022 CDL season with the Guerrillas. Most of the competitive Call of Duty community was stunned when Arcitys tweeted on Aug. 18 that he was a restricted free agent, implying that Atlanta was looking to make a roster change despite being arguably the most consistent team in the entire league during Arcitys’ tenure. The 24-year-old most notably won several events with Atlanta in Black Ops Cold War, including CoD Champs 2021. FaZe failed to win a tournament this year in Vanguard, but they did have four second-place finishes. LAG, on the other hand, endured a roller coaster of a season in 2022. The franchise won its first CDL tournament at Major Two in April but didn’t finish the regular season in the top eight of the standings and failed to qualify for CoD Champs 2022. The Guerrillas ended the most recent season with a lineup featuring SlasheR, Huke, Spart, and Neptune. This roster only played together for the Major Four qualifiers and at Major Four, however. Related: Call of Duty League rostermania: 2023 CDL preseason On top of the addition of Arcitys for 2023, the Guerrillas will have a new coaching staff for the Modern Warfare 2 season. The franchise parted ways with head coach Bevils on Aug. 9 and former coach Ricky will be the squad’s new team manager. This move also confirms that Atlanta FaZe will need to pick up a new player to compete alongside Simp, aBeZy, and Cellium next year. Read More: Full Article on Dot Esports
  7. From Dot Esports: The Minnesota RØKKR has introduced its lineup for the 2023 Call of Duty League season. The franchise is building around Attach for the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 season and adding Cammy, Bance, and Afro to the roster alongside him.  Minnesota is the latest team to announce its new CDL roster after the Los Angeles Guerrillas revealed yesterday that Arcitys will be replacing SlasheR. After Vanguard concluded, several players entered free agency with the ability to fully explore their options with teams. All four members of the RØKKR, including Havok, Priestahh, Standy, and Attach, were free agents. But the organization prioritized building around Attach, who is coming off of one of his best individual seasons in the Call of Duty League.  “When I started talking with Cammy, Bance, and Afro, those were players that I really wanted to work with and it just worked out perfectly that we ended up here,” Attach said in the Minnesota press conference today. “I was talking to a couple of different organizations and players but I knew in the back of my head that I wanted to build a team with the RØKKR just because the organization is fantastic.” Related: Call of Duty League rostermania: 2023 CDL preseason Cammy and Bance join the roster as a former duo from the Toronto Ultra, who came up short during the Vanguard season. Meanwhile, Afro is coming from the London Royal Ravens, who saw glimpses of greatness throughout the year. As confirmed by the Minnesota coaching staff, Attach will be assuming the main assault rifle role for the team after he switched roles halfway through the Vanguard season. The team is located across the country but will be playing together for Modern Warfare 2. The team will split their time between playing in Minnesota and Dallas throughout the year, according to the organization. Read More: Full Article on Dot Esports
  8. From Dot Esports: The Atlanta FaZe is bringing in a new assault rifle player for the 2023 Call of Duty League season. SlasheR has been revealed as the replacement for Arcitys, Atlanta announced today. SlasheR will return to FaZe Clan after seven long years and will be completing the roster that has been one of the most successful teams in the Call of Duty League. Since winning back-to-back tournaments during Black Ops 4 with 100 Thieves, SlasheR has gone through a rough patch during the CDL. OpTic Gaming Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Thieves never lived up to their potential while he was on the roster. But SlasheR did win a tournament with the Los Angeles Guerrillas during the Vanguard season, bringing the organization its first Call of Duty trophy.  “Super excited for the opportunity to play with these players under this organization,” SlasheR said. “Never been so ready for a new season to start.” Related: Call of Duty League rostermania: 2023 CDL preseason Despite winning Major Two this year, SlasheR and his team missed out on the 2022 CDL Championship. The team did not accumulate enough points and finished toward the bottom of the standings, missing the cut-off for Champs. Now, SlasheR has been given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, from missing Champs to walking onto a team that has never missed a Champs grand final. Atlanta FaZe and the L.A. Guerrillas seemingly did an even swap of their main assault rifle players by switching Arcitys for SlasheR. This will be the first time SlasheR has teamed with the members of FaZe but he’s no stranger to those on the roster. The Tiny Terrors, Simp and aBeZy, prevented SlasheR from getting his second ring with 100 Thieves and Cellium nearly sent SlasheR and 100 Thieves home early at Champs during Black Ops 4. 10. From IGN News: In the months following the Steam Deck's launch, demand for the handheld gaming PC drastically outperformed Valve's expectations. In response, the company has now revealed that it's definitely thinking about creating a successor to the original Steam Deck. Yesterday, Valve released a 50-page booklet about the Steam Deck. As pointed out by @Wario64, in a section of the booklet titled "The Future: more Steam Decks, more SteamOS," Valve reveals its plans to support the Steam Deck for years through both new hardware and software versions. "In the future, Valve will follow up on this product with improvements and iterations to hardware and software, bringing new versions of Steam Deck to market," the booklet reads. The company is also looking to incorporate community feedback in building the next Steam Deck, allowing for a more well-rounded experience. "This is a multi-generational product line. Valve will support Steam Deck and SteamOS well into the foreseeable future. We will learn from the Steam community about new uses for our hardware that we haven’t thought of yet, and we will build new versions to be even more open and capable than the first version of Steam Deck has been." Valve says Steam Deck is a multi-generational product line and that the Steam Deck and SteamOS will be supported well into the foreseeable future. "we will build new versions to be even more open and capable than the first version of Steam Deck has been." pic.twitter.com/msMSnST3z5 — Wario64 (@Wario64) August 25, 2022 Previously, Valve president Gabe Newell spoke to IGN on the Steam Deck's launch, revealing that the product's high demand at launch pushed the team to explore more options for the future of the Steam Deck. We gave the Steam Deck a 7 in our review, saying that it's amazing when working at its full potential, but can be frustrating at times. Though the gaming device was initially a bit tricky to acquire, it's now becoming more accessible as Valve works out supply chain issues. 11. From IGN News: Battlefield 2042 is about to enter Season 2 – Master of Arms. The upcoming season begins on August 30th on all platforms and brings a new map, a new specialist, plenty of new weapons and hardware, and 100 tiers of new battle pass content. Season 2: Master of Arms moves the action to the Panama Canal with its new Stranded map – an exciting new fight across a drained lake, with a shipwrecked tanker that also serves as an illicit black-market hub. Battlefield 2042 players will find themselves vying for control of the Starg Ceres, now a market for illicit military hardware. As you might expect, the tanker itself favors close-quarters combat with tight corridors, a lot of cover, and short distances between objectives. Might want to pack a shotgun. Charlie Crawford is your new specialist in Season 2 – an ex-arms dealer with a Mounted Vulcan stationary minigun (which can be used by other Specialists) and the ability to revive teammates and refill their gadget ammo. On the subject of weapons, Season 2 packs a few new guns to get your hands on. The new AM40 offers a mid-range alternative that sits somewhere between an assault rifle and a sub-machine gun, while the Avancys is a lightweight machine gun that maximizes mobility as well as attachments. The PF51 sits between an SMG and a pistol, albeit with a huge magazine. The new concussion grenade gives players the chance to daze and confuse their enemies. All these and more are available thanks to the black market… and there’s even a new way to get hold of some of your favorite weapons in All-Out Warfare. Completing Assignments will allow you to unlock Vault Weapons – these are weapons previously only available in Battlefield Portal, such as the M60E4 and M16A3. These are the first two which will become available with the new season, while others will become available later as the season goes on. All in all, there are a lot of new features in Battlefield 2042’s latest season. Better yet, all items that affect gameplay will be unlockable without the premium battle pass, so you can level up and earn it regardless. Want to read more about Battlefield 2042? 12. From The Verge: Image: Bungie Destiny 2 is arriving on the Epic Games Store today. The latest expansion of Bungie’s looter shooter comes just as Epic and Bungie announce a special Destiny 2 and Fortnite crossover that will involve skins, maps, and more. The expansion to the Epic Games Store will also see Destiny 2’s recent 30th Anniversary go free on the Epic Games Store. Bungie will also make The Witch Queen, Beyond Light, and other DLCs free for a week across all available Destiny 2 platforms. Stadia, Xbox, PlayStation, and PC players will all be able to access previous DLCs for the week to coincide with the Epic Games Store launch. Bungie’s move to the Epic Games Store is part of a broader expansion for Destiny 2 across digital game stores and platforms. Destiny 2 originally debuted on Battle.net in 2017 before moving to Steam in 2019, and it also launched on the Microsoft Store last year. Bungie announced earlier this year that Destiny 2 would remain on existing platforms as part of Sony’s acquisition of the studio and that it would also “expand to new platforms.” We’re still waiting to hear whether Destiny 2 might one day appear on the Nintendo Switch through cloud gaming or if Bungie plans to eventually allow Steam Deck owners to access the game instead of the threat of a ban. 13. From Charlie INTEL: The kill/death ratio is a common way for Warzone players to judge a weapon’s effectiveness, and one surprising Vanguard weapon currently has the best K/D ratio in the game. When you jump into a game of Warzone Pacific, you’ll want to equip a gun that allows you to secure numerous kills before you die, and there are plenty of high K/D weapon options to choose from. The Armaguerra 43 dominates Warzone’s meta and has an extremely impressive K/D ratio, but it turns out that one surprising close-range weapon from Call of Duty Vanguard surpasses it in that regard. The WZRanked website tracks the average K/D ratio of players when using certain weapons in the game, and the Combat Shotgun from Vanguard is currently the highest K/D gun in Warzone Pacific. At the time of writing, weapons like the Armaguerra 43, H4 Blixen, and UGM-8 have impressive K/D ratios of 1.29, 1.26, and 1.25 respectively, but the Combat Shotgun has them all beat with a ratio of 1.38. This Shotgun also has a higher win rate than them but a significantly lower pick rate, which means it’s an underrated gem that’s worth taking advantage of. You can use it to eliminate multiple foes in close-range combat. The Combat Shotgun boasts solid damage output that allows it to dominate in tight spaces. So, it’s a great choice for the close-quarters layout of Rebirth Island, as well as in buildings on Caldera and Fortune’s Keep. While this overlooked Vanguard weapon currently has the spotlight, we might see another weapon take its place after the Season 5 update shakes up the meta again. Until then, it’s worth trying out this weapon if you’re looking to rack up kills. For more Warzone Pacific content, check out this gun that one Warzone expert claims has replaced the Armaguerra as the top meta weapon as well as this forgotten Cold War SMG that’s a “top tier” Sniper support weapon. 17. From Charlie INTEL: The mid-season update for Warzone Pacific Season 5 is bringing the Resurgence Supreme mode to Rebirth Island, and we’ll go over everything we know about this LTM. Rebirth Island continues to be one of the most popular locations to drop into when playing Warzone, and players looking for more intense action could try out the Resurgence Extreme mode whenever it made its way to the active playlist. Now, the Season 5 update is set to bring a ton of changes for Warzone Pacific players to explore, and the developers have confirmed that Rebirth Island will receive the Resurgence Supreme mode later in the season. When the mid-season update goes live, squads of four will be able to jump into the Resurgence Supreme mode which is similar to the Rebirth Resurgence Extreme mode in Warzone. It features squads of four dropping in with the best weapons and with respawning enabled. Players will have the opportunity to earn the best prizes by winning the match with over 15 eliminations. Warzone players enjoyed the Resurgence Extreme mode for the chaotic and fast-paced gameplay opportunities that it provided on Rebirth Island, and Resurgence Supreme is set to bring the same thrills. At the time of writing, the developers haven’t revealed more information about this game mode, such as the maximum number of players that can participate as well as the exact release date of Rebirth Resurgence Supreme. We do know that it will arrive at some point during Season 5 Reloaded, and it’s possible that this game mode will become available right at the start of the mid-season update. 18. From IGN News: Good news if you’ve reserved a Steam Deck – it’s shipping a lot quicker than expected. Valve’s incredibly popular handheld PC has seen an influx of orders and preorders since it was first announced, and now it looks as though the company is finally getting a handle on production. “A few of you may have received an order email for your ‘Q4 window’ Steam Deck reservation today,” said Valve’s Lawrence Yang via Twitter. “This wasn’t a mistake! Production has outperformed our estimates, and we’ll be moving more Q4 folks into the Q3 window. “Official announcement and info coming soon,” he added. “In the meantime, check your email and visit [the Steam Deck website] while logged in, and check your reservation just in case it came in early. And if you missed the email, there’s a grace period to get your order reinstated - just make a support ticket.” Hi all, a few of you may have received an order email for your “Q4 window” Steam Deck reservation today. This wasn’t a mistake! Production has outperformed our estimates, and we’ll be moving more Q4 folks into the Q3 window. Official announcement and info coming soon. 🎉 — Lawrence Yang (@lawrenceyang) August 22, 2022 The news comes shortly after Valve officially announced that supply chain shortfalls were beginning to clear up. Now, it looks as though those issues are in hand, with Steam Decks flying out the door and into customer hands quicker than ever. “Many of the supply chain shortfalls that affect Steam Deck are gradually clearing up, and we're continuing to ramp production, so we're able to produce more Decks faster than ever before,” said Valve. As a result, it looks as though the reservation queues are being bumped up with those in the Q4 window moving forward to Q3 while new orders sit firmly in the Q4 release window. That means you could get your hands on one by the end of the year. The Steam Deck has proven to be a big hit with gamers since its release, despite criticisms for its battery life, screen quality, and occasional performance issues. IGN’s Steam Deck review said: “When the Steam Deck is living up to its promises, it's absolutely incredible. Playing GTA 5, God of War, and other modern games on the go is an absolute joy, and the hardware and controls feel good to hold even though it’s a big chubby boy of a handheld. It seriously impressed me with how nice some demanding modern games look on its 7-inch screen.” Want to read more about the Steam Deck? 20. From EsportsJunkie.com: It has been a remarkably busy week in the world of the Call of Duty League. As the 2021-22 season has come to a close, rostermania has kicked off, and players are currently moving around the board at break-neck speeds. With each new day, the community sits with bated breath, waiting to see which player will be released by their team ahead of the 2022-23 season. Since the 12th of August, no fewer than twenty-eight players have undergone changes in the CDL, almost all of them being released as free agents. In a bizarre twist, and arguably standing as the highlight of the week, OpTic decided to throw a curse upon itself. For years, we’ve seen a trend whereupon OpTic drops a player, only for that player to be a part of the winning team in the following season’s competition. It has happened three years back-to-back, but this year, OpTic Texas is getting ahead of the game. On August 17th, the team ‘dropped’ Dashy and iLLeY, only to re-acquire the two superstar players one day later. Therefore, the curse has kicked in, but in theory, OpTic Texas should reign supreme in 2022. Thunderpick rating 100% Bonus up to €500 Claim Bonus Read Review T&Cs Apply, 18+ Only. For the opening week of rostermania, the community has received a healthy dose of drama and surprise. It all kicked off with a controversial debate between Crimsix, HyDra, and the rest of the Subliners (or ex-Subliners) crew. Following Crimsix’ departure from New York’s team, it was revealed that the squad had ultimately failed to gel throughout most of the season. There were allegations of racism and toxicity among the squad, and it ended up with Crimsix saying that HyDra was ‘dead to him’. Following that debacle, the rest of the New York Subliners team was released. As we’ve already highlighted, a whopping twenty-eight players have moved around the field since the 12th of August. For a few teams in the Call of Duty League, an entire restructuring is on the cards. We’ve seen the likes of Florida, Subliners, and Rokkr all clean house in the last few days, opening up the table and giving fans no idea of what’s coming next. Technically, we could also list Dashy and iLLeY above, but despite being made free agents on the 17th of August, they’re already back, safe and sound inside of OpTic Texas’ roster. One of the biggest surprises of the week was the news that Arcitys would be leaving Atlanta FaZe. While the veteran Call of Duty player hasn’t had a stunning season, he has played a pivotal part in the team’s success thus far. Since the start of the 2021 season, Arcitys has repped the FaZe banner, aiding the team in securing three Major wins and a Championship victory throughout the season. This marks the first change that the team has made since the start of 2021.There’s a long way to go until the 2023 CDL season kicks off in earnest. Between then and now, we’ve got Call of Duty: NEXT, as well as the launch of Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2. It’s a busy ... Read More: Full Article on EsportsJunkie.com

Hyperbeat is finally bringing Crypto to the mobile version of he Apex Games along with a new ranked split, new events, and gameplay updates. Hyperbeat is kicking off Aug. 23, which is just a few days away. The most exciting update is another familiar legend joining the ever-expanding roster, as Crypto has joined the dangerous Apex Games to clear his name. Formerly Tae Joon Park, Crypto escaped a “life of squalor” by becoming a computer engineer for the Syndicate. But when he stumbled upon an algorithm that could predict the results of Apex Games matches, Crypto was forced into hiding, framed for the murder of his foster sister who had disappeared. Crypto isn’t a very popular pick in Apex Legends, but may have a chance in Apex Mobile thanks to his intel-gathering abilities. Crypto uses a drone to spy on his opponents while remaining unseen himself. Crypto abilities in Apex Mobile Screengrab via [Respawn Entertainment](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwKQLghOG20&ab_channel=ApexLegends)While Crypto’s kit is quite similar to the original PC version, there are some changes made specifically for mobile gameplay. Crypto’s passive is Neurolink. Enemies spotted by his surveillance drone are marked for your entire squad within a 30 meter range. His tactical is Surveillance Drone, detecting enemy squads and hazards on the battlefield. Exclusively in the mobile game, Crypto’s drone can automatically follow him while he moves around, tracking enemies at the same time. Cryptos ultimate is Drone EMP, allowing him to deal shield damage and slow enemies while disabling the opposing team’s traps. Crypto legend perks in Apex Mobile: Self Destruct: Destroyed drones explode after three seconds, slowing and damaging enemies caught in the blast. Hidden User: Become semi-transparent when controlling drones. System Scan: Your drone reveals an enemy’s HP and armor after three seconds of scanning. 22. From Dot Esports: Fortnite is currently one of the largest live-service games on the market, evolving over its five-year history into a platform for entertainment companies to showcase their characters. The most recent Dragon Ball collab has been happily received by players, and it’s sounding like more might be on the horizon. According to data miners, there could be another collab coming to the game as soon as next week. One of the leakers, MidaRado (who has been correct about these crossovers before), has been posting that one of four potential crossovers might be happening soon. The listed choices are: Destiny 2DoomFamily GuyLord of the RingsThis is an interesting list because both Doom and Family Guy have previously been leaked during an Unreal Engine 5 presentation earlier this year. Lord of the Rings was rumored to be coming sometime in the future when a data miner found a castle that looks similar to one from the LOTR canon. Destiny 2 is the only new rumor being floated around as a potential collab. While these are all well within the range of speculation, some of these franchises have been teased before. Unfortunately, players won’t likely know more until files are added to the game, or Epic Games makes a public announcement. Other leakers have backed MidaRado, stating that they’ve been right about crossovers in the past. Many in the comments under the tweet are stating that they believe that it could be Destiny 2, with an update stream for the game set on Aug. 23. Others think it’s Doom due to the free period of Doom 64 on the Epic Games Store currently running until Aug. 25. While all of these collaborations would be cool and welcome among fans of the IP, there’s no confirmation that any of these are coming soon. Players can keep an eye on Dot Esports and Fortnite‘s social channels for any future updates about these crossovers. Read More: Full Article on Dot Esports
  23. From Charlie INTEL: Fortnite players have discovered a familiar Lord of the Rings landmark in the Season 3 island, teasing the leaked crossover is coming soon. It’s been a big week for The Lord of the Rings in the gaming space. Not only is Weta Workshop teaming up with Take-Two to develop a new game set in Tolkien’s Middle-earth, but Swedish company Embracer Group are acquiring the rights to everything Lord of the Rings. Just as it’s been reported that the leaked Lord of the Rings content has been cut from MultiVersus, an easter egg discovered in-game teases that Middle-earth characters will be coming to Fortnite. Fortnite content creator ‘Koooooomar’ discovered that the rock-child is building a replica of Helm’s Deep from the Lord of the Rings. This was the ancient fortress the people of Rohan retreated to in The Two Towers for the movie’s major battle. You can find the sculpture southeast of Condo Canyon on the shore. Holy crap, I just realized what the Rock-Child is building on the beach, Helm's Deep from LotR! If @FortniteGame adds a LotR collab, that would be AMAZING!! Probably just an Easter Egg though…#Fortnite #FortniteLeaks #LordOfTheRings pic.twitter.com/3yqCRKFn39 — Koooooomar (@koooooomar) August 18, 2022 There’s almost no denying this sculpture is based on Helm’s Deep, with the ramp leading up to the keep on the right-hand side and the Deeping Wall stretching across the makeshift valley. It even has a gap in the wall and scorch marks where the Uruk-Hai blew through it in the movie and trash makes up the advancing forces. Leakers are convinced a Doomslayer skin will be coming soon thanks to it being free on the Epic Game store, but the same leak claims a Lord of the Rings crossover is also in the works. RUMOR: One(!) of these collabs will be added to the game next week, according to @MidaRado: – Doom – Family Guy – The Lord of the Rings I don't know which collab it's gonna be, but keep in mind that there's currently a Fall Guys X Doom collab, and the game is now free on Epic. pic.twitter.com/lZzYNzWSqQ — Shiina (@ShiinaBR) August 19, 2022 With Amazon’s Lord of the Rings show releasing in September, this could be the perfect time to tie the bundles in with The Rings of Power. We could even see Sauron, Gandalf, or Galadriel in the Season 4 Battle Pass which goes live in late September, but that’s just hopeful speculation. Image Credit: Epic Games / Warner Bros. 25. From Charlie INTEL: Warzone Season 5’s new Doomsday Station device is set to shake up Caldera, so here’s how to use it to earn a unique cosmetic and in-game rewards. Warzone Season 5 is sending off the battle royale with a bang thanks to the new weapons up for grabs, familiar villains returning, and new modes to discover. The new content doesn’t stop there as Raven Software are also introducing several new items for players to utilize. One of these new items is the Doomsday Station, and it has the potential to shake up Warzone gameplay. Those who harness the power of the Doomsday Station could set themselves up for an easy battle royale victory, so let’s find out how it works. Warzone Doomsday Station explained Players who activate a Doomsday Station during the primary BR game mode will trigger a series of events on Caldera. After a Doomsday Station has been activated, enemy AI including soldiers and helicopters will arrive at your location for a direct assault. It’ll be up to you and your teammates to remain close to the Doomsday Station and defend yourself against the oncoming attackers. If done successfully, players will earn a unique cosmetic reward as well as powerful in-game items. Activating the Doomsday Station is not enough on its own and only those who survive the onslaught will receive the rewards. The cosmetic up for grabs is a Watch for your Operator, and while we don’t know which in-game items will act as rewards, they’re expected to change the flow of the game and set you up for a victory. New in Caldera: — Doomsday Station — Supply Box UAV (It will mark nearby unopened Supply Boxes on the player’s Tac Map for around 15 seconds) — Personal Supply Box — Rage Serum (Field Upgrade allows you to become violently unstable) pic.twitter.com/Zgg5dCUM6S — CharlieIntel (@charlieINTEL) August 18, 2022 You’ll want to keep in mind that it will cost a total of $10,000 to activate the Doomsday Station, so saving up cash is a necessary step of the process. In addition, only one Doomsday Station will appear across Caldera per match. This practically guarantees that it will be a heavily contested location. Speaking of location, the Doomsday Station will not appear in the same spot every match. Instead, it has multiple spawn locations, so you’ll have to keep an eye out and be ready for anything.
